Yaqui Ridge March 2020
Parts of Anza Borrego Desert State Park were closed: camping grounds, parking lots, visitor center, and some developed trails, but limited hiking was still allowed.

Joel is back. He’s playing for 2 softball teams, so he doesn’t have much time, but he wants to finish the San Diego 100, and he decided Sunset Mountain was the next up.
Buckman BM and Long Valley Peak February 2020
There are 13 mountains that have been de-listed from the San Diego 100 list. I thought it would be interesting to add these to my ascent list.
Squaw Hill and San Andreas Fault February 2020
The Thousand Palm Oasis lies in the middle of the Coachella Valley Preserve. Dorie and I did a little Valentine’s Day hike along the San Andreas Fault that runs through this part of the valley.
Banff and Jasper, Alberta, Canada October 10-16, 2019
Dorie and I expected a nice fall vacation in Alberta, Canada. An early Canadian Rockies snowstorm changed it into more of a winter vacation.
John Muir Trail Sept 7-27, 2019
For years I have been trying to get a permit to hike the John Muir Trail. I finally did when I met Lance at a 4th of July party.
Red Tahquitz, Grey Tahquitz, South Peak, August 18
For a long while, the desert divide portion of the Pacific Crest Trail has been closed due to past fires. Finally, it has opened up and gave us the opportunity to climb several peaks previously closed. John, Uwe, Kevin and I took off to bag Red and Grey Tahquitz, and South Peak.
