A one night backpacking hike up to Middle Hawkins from the Crystal Lake recreation area to see the night lights of Los Angeles.
For diversion some of us hiked along the ridge to the east to visit a few other peaks, including Baden-Powell.
The down side of hiking in the dry mountains of SoCal is the lack of water. I carried 9.25 liters. My pack weight 49.5 lb at the start, when we returned to the car it was down to 26.5.
