Sunday morning we drove to the Racetrack and checked out the tracks of the rocks on the playa. We had the place to ourselves and got to see some pretty good tracks. Afterwards we decided to explore some of the canyons on the west side of Tin Mountain we had seen from above the day before. Alex had been to the area 10-15 years ago and remembered seeing some fossils in one of the canyons. We saw lots of cool rock formations, but no fossils. After 5h of exploring we got back to the truck just around sunset. Not wanting to spend a 3rd night by the road side here we headed down Racetrack road and then north on Big Pine Road. This took us towards the next goal, the Eureka Dunes. A few miles down Big Pine Road we found a nice spot to camp. This was the first night with conditions comfortable enough to get the camping chairs out and have some cold beers with dinner.
