What a difference 10\u00b0 makes on a desert mountain hike. I tried to bag these two mountains when I got Round Mountain a few weeks ago, but the heat got to me then. The area is crisscrossed with a lot of off-road motorcycle trails, so it was kind of confusing in some places. On the top of Luna was a large telephone pole so somebody had been there before me. Bummer.
\nRattlesnake mountain was next on the agenda. I really don\u2019t know why this is on one of the Sierra lists because it was almost a nothing peek. The only interesting thing was the cross-country desert scramble to get there. I did see a lizard but no rattlesnake. Bummer again.<\/p>\n\n\n
