Indian Mountain and Rouse Hill August 2020

Two easy walk-up mountains were more of a 4WD adventure. I had three remaining mountains to hike in the San Jacinto Range of the Sierra Club 100 list.

Now only one, Lily Rock remains. The Indian Mountain trail head was after a bumpy 4WD approach. It was a short but very steep and dusty hike up an old forest road. From the top you could see the Apple fire destroying 30,000 acres of the San Gorgonio Wilderness. Very sad. The same bumpy ride back out and another even rougher 4WD along Rouse Ridge to get me to Rouse Hill. The road almost ran over the top of the hill, so it was a very sort ½ mile and 50 ft elevation to get to the top. Kinda embarrassing after the two very hard hikes last month. There was some very tricky but fun 4WD down to Anza. My little Taco performed well, and it was a good thing because I saw no one the entire day.
